Last week my 9 year old staff Taz started to pant and shake really badly, we rushed her to the vets who said that it could be either epilepsy or liver problems, take her up to their hospital.
We did and she had a blood test and was kept in over night. They called us about an hour after we left her to say that her phostphate levels were low and that they were putting her on a drip over night.
The next morning they called to say that they wanted to keep her for longer, she was a little calmer and her phostphate level was back up. Urine samples sent off.
We collected her that evening another appointment to do bloods for the next da, which were ok and are going back today to get her blood done again and the results of a urine test (it had blood in it).
I will keep you posted and she is a lot perkier today, no panting and no shakes.
Mandie

Poor Taz.... She seemed ok yesterday when I was up yours mum... lot happier than I thought she would be but I guess that was due to all the fuss she was getting...

Well no results in as yet the vet is going to chase them up. Yes Taz is getting back to her old self, she cryed lots at the vets just now,so loud....
The vet has said we don't have to go back unless the tests come back with anything or if she has the same outburst again.
So fingers crossed x x x x x Smile

Oh yes we still have 1 of the cats but he is an outdoor cat...Think its cause I have so many dogs here that it's decided its safer. Mind you Dippy only comes near John and he is not keen on cats.

Hi, we had the all clear on Taz's sample today. Vet said they had no idea what had caused her problems, to keep an eye on her and to take her back asap if it happens again.
