Did you know that dogs could get get meningits? My boxer - Merlin was diagnosed with it on saturday.
We were really worried about him as he has been under the weather and not himself at all, walking with an arched back, crying out in pian and not being able to move his nect properly. We took him to our vets and they were instantly concerned so they advised us to take him to a specialist centre an hours drive away from us so they can confirm this. We did and he has the inflammatory form of meningitis. It is not contagious and not as dangerous in dogs as it is in humans. He started treatment saturday and is on 6 tablets a day. He will have ongoing treatment until he is at least 2 years of age. We have had avery upsetting and scary time and just so pleased that his condition is treatable. X

Oh dear poor Merlin and poor you. I know how worrying it is, lets hope he is better soon and the tablets work.
I must admit thats the 1st I'd heard about it in dogs though.
